| 2005 | According to the former chairman of Thales Engineering and Consulting (THEC), Michel Josserand, Thalès was built to gain government contracts with a system of physical intimidations, handling and of generalized and centralized corruption. The bribes would reach 1 to 2% of the group's businesses, i.e. 100 to 200 million; euros per year. The former chairman evokes the tram markets of Bordeaux and Nice, the hospital of Tour and various other operations. THEC had gained in 2002 the of control market of the tram of Nice for an amount of 14,3 million euros. The group had been chosen by the city commission whereas the offer of a competitor was lower by 12,6%.The THEC new management which, at the end of March 2005, had seized justice for presumptions of corruption on this market, after having laid off, at the beginning of 2004, the suspected executive officers. Dominique Monleau, the " Mr Tramway" town hall then directed by Jacques Peyrat (UMP), had acknowledged to have earned 90.000 euros on behalf of Thalès, half of a 180.000 euros bribe promised by the company for the insurance of gaining the market. : translate | TF1  |
