Elpida conspired with other chip-makers to fix the price of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips between April 1999 and June 2002. Elpida also conspired with another chip maker to rig a bid for a lot sold to Sun Microsystems Inc. in March 2002, according to U.S. authorities. Elpida Memory Inc. agreed to pay the Justice Department $84 million to settle charges. |
