The EADS top management and some major shareholders are guilty of "a massive insider trading" and the State knew the situation, according to a "preliminary note" of the Authority of the financial markets (AFM). This document concludes to "a massive insider trading made between November 2005 and March 2006, before the difficulties of Airbus were made public and that the share of EADS broke down". "In addition to the Lagardere and DaimlerChrysler groups, represented by their owner Arnaud Lagardere and Manfred Bischoff, the people blamed are the main leaders of the aeronautical manufacturer." At EADS, the two COO, Noël Forgeard and Thomas Enders, as well as the delegated general manager, Paul Gut, were also informed. At Airbus, the COO, Gustav Humbert, general managers and members of the executive committee are also quoted. The AFM concentrated "on only the high leaders of EADS and Airbus, and the shareholders of the first, that is to say 21 people", whereas "1 200 initiates having sold more than 10 million titles (...) and having pocketed nearly 90 million euros of profit" had initially been flushed out. "14 of the 21 people had never sold shares before November 2005" what for the AFM is a "proof of the absence of confidence in the continuation and the progression of the share". |
