Paid $4.5 million to Los Angeles to settle claims it intentionally overbilled the city's utility department, avoiding a politically charged trial and also agreed to forgive $1.2 million in outstanding bills. The payment settles a lawsuit filed last summer by the city's Department of Water & Power. The lawsuit claimed that, among the monthly invoices submitted to three city departments between May 1999 and early 2004, Fleishman-Hillard knowingly and consistently inflated hours and claimed to provide work that was not performed. |
