Mueller charged by the European Union regulators for colluding to fix prices in the $3.8 billion market for copper fittings used in plumbing and heating. The European commission said evidence ``suggests that competitors agreed on prices, allocated customers and exchanged commercially important and confidential market and/or company relevant information.'' Mueller Industries Inc. will get full immunity from fines because it alerted EU authorities about the illegal price-fixing in January 2001. |
