2008 The European Commission has fined a total of 676 million euros nine energy found guilty of having heard for 13 years on prices and market share of paraffin waxes. Paraffin waxes is used in a wide variety of products such as coating of waxy cheese, candles, tires, automotive components, adhesives and chewing gum. The cartel operated from 1992 to 2005 before being denounced by one of its participants, the Anglo-Dutch group Shell which has thus escaped a 96 million euros fine. Were condemned the South African group Sasol, the french Total (128 million), the U.S. ExxonMobil (83.5 million), the German Hansen & Rosenthal, Tudapetrol and RWE, the Italian Eni, the Spanish Repsol and the Hungarian MOL.    
2007 The European Commission has fined Bayer AG, Denka Group, EI Du Pont de Nemours & Co, Dow Chemical Co, ENI and Tosoh Corp a total of 243.2 mln eur for participating in a cartel for chloroprene rubber between 1993 and 2002. The companies involved shared the market and fixed prices for chloroprene rubber, which is used for rubber components in a range of industrial products such as latex for the production of diving equipment, condoms, and the inner soles of shoes and as an adhesive.    
2006 Condamné par l'autorité italienne de la concurrence à une amende de 290 millions d'euros pour abus de position dominante en Algérie: "Eni est dans une situation d'abus de position dominante et fait obstacle à l'entrée d'opérateurs indépendants, à partir de mars 2007, sur le marché national de l'approvisionnement de gros de gaz naturel", a estimé l'Autorité dans un communiqué. ENI a "notamment interrompu la procédure d'accroissement de la productivité du gazoduc Trans Tunisian Pipeline Company (TTPC)"     AFP
2005 L'entreprise est épinglée dans un rapport d'enquête préliminaire de la Commission Européenne, selon lequel il existe «des problèmes graves dans les marchés de l'énergie», notamment de «pratiques restrictives et d'abus de position dominante».     Le Figaro
