| 2007 | Guernsey : A judgement of the royal Court of the island of Guernesey has frozen the assets of Tommy Suharto, son of the ex-dictator indonésien Suharto, deposited on an account of the BNP Paribas bank. Tommy Suharto is believed to have deposited in Guernesey between 36 and 75 million euros illegally acquired when his/her father was with the president of Indonesia. The account was open in 1998 in the name of the company Garnet Investment, based in the Virgin Islands, little after the fall of Suharto. The billionaire Tommy Suharto symbolized to a number of Indonésiens the nepotism of his father. The latter was ranked the most corrupted leader in the world by the organization Transparency International. He and its family would have robbed between 15 and 35 billion dollars.
